Founder and Partner at Joe Digital, Inc., a full-service content production and distribution company specializing in custom branded content and marketing strategies. Veteran television and new media executive and Executive Producer who has created, developed and produced projects for most of the network and cable outlets, including ABC, Fox, NBC, UPN, MTV, BRAVO, LIFETIME, ANIMAL PLANET, HISTORY CHANNEL, COURT TV, VH1, Sci Fi and many first run syndication projects. Peter has also worked in the new media space having launched the US operations for VideoJug.com where he oversaw all creative and business development and operations aspects of the company’s online “encyclopedia of life”. He has produced over 15,000 pieces of online content covering everything from entertainment to branded video content. Peter is a member of the New York Bar and is on the Board of Directors for Tower Cancer Research Foundation and the National Advisory Council of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters (aka the “House of Estrogen”) and has several weird hobbies.
He’s a product of SVHS, Video Toaster and Public Access. Realizing in high school there might be a future in visual storytelling, he honed his skills shooting videos instead of writing term papers. He’s created and developed content for some of the leading platforms in traditional and new media. Most recently, he was one of the founding producers as well as the VP of Business Development at VideoJug America, where he wrote and produced thousands of educational and branded videos, including over 200 environmental videos for the MSN Live Earth concert in 2007. He has worked as a visual storyteller in TV and independent film and has shot all over the world. Specializing in short form video for the web, he has produced content for such clients as: Volvo International, Hasbro, MTV, Hollywood Previews, Actors-Web and Jaded Entertainment. While working as a voice over actor in San Francisco, he stumbled into new media in the late 90’s and landed a gig with Earthnoise.com (think YouTube circa 1998). He’s currently working on a documentary about his experience trying to “hike” up Kilimanjaro in 2007. He lives in Los Angeles but spends most of his time lost in the digital ether.
Michael Parekh, Advisor
A Wall Streeter for over 20 years, former partner at Goldman Sachs, and founder of its Internet Research effort in 1994, Michael has been living online since the early days of CompuServe in the 80s and AOL in the ’90s. Michael helped build the Internet Research effort at the firm, which eventually comprised of many analysts covering major internet segments around the world. Michael was the lead research analyst for the IPOs of Internet companies like UUNET, Yahoo!, eBay, DoubleClick, Webex, Real Networks, Exodus, Expedia, amongst many other pioneering companies, as well as covering companies like America Online and Netscape. He was an Institutional Investor ranked analyst for several years. His focus spanned Internet sectors from software, access, infrastructure, and wireless to online commerce and content companies worldwide. Michael also advised senior managements of leading incumbent companies in mainstream industry sectors globally, on strategic matters related to Internet-driven changes in their long-term business models. Michael started his career at Goldman Sachs, developing the firm’s equities business in the Middle East, with high net worth family offices and sovereign wealth funds. He got his MBA at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1982, and BSc at Auburn University in 1980. He joined Goldman Sachs & Co. in 1982. A native of India, Michael, aka Mukesh, grew up in the middle east., coming to the US in 1977 for college. Michael serves on various advisory boards of start-up internet companies. As an active investor, he is focused on both private and public, technology-driven opportunities.
Yolanda Petriz, Creative Director
Yolanda is an accomplished Creative Director with over 15 years of experience in design and brand development. She has worked with major agencies in San Francisco and Los Angeles and has an impressive portfolio in branding, identity, packaging, collateral and interactive design. Prior to joining Joe Digital, Yolanda spent many years in the branding trenches in New York, San francisco and Los Angeles where she put her conceptual problem solving and creative design skills to work for a wide variety of brands such as: Nescafe, Tropicana, Beringer, Neutrogena, Perrier, AOL and Vonage. A native of Mallorca, Spain, Yolanda is bilingual and is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York.
